Vantive’s Commitment to Innovation Rewarded with MTAA Award

Medical Technology Award

Written by Jane Walton, PD Marketing and Market Access Manager

On 22nd October, Vantive was awarded the Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) Tech4Health Award, for our MyPD remote patient management app. MyPD enables the benefits of remote patient management to be experienced by all PD patients.

Ian Burgess, CEO of the Medical Technology Association of Australia, presenting the award to Matthew Bain, Country Manager for Vantive Australia and New Zealand.

The MTAA MedTech Industry Awards is an annual celebration acknowledging the individuals, companies and technologies of the MedTech industry.  This year, a new award category, the Tech4Health Award was included.

Winning the Tech4Health Award was an acknowledgement of our innovation, leadership, and impact in the development and application of MyPD to improve patient outcomes, enhance health system efficiency, and support a more connected, accessible, and data-driven health ecosystem.

The history of MyPD

We introduced remote patient management for APD patients in 2016, using the Homechoice Claria to transmit and receive data through a modem to our cloud-based remote patient management platform, Sharesource. We know many PD units in Australia and New Zealand are committed to daily monitoring of their patients using this data.

However, CAPD patients were unable to reap the benefits of remote patient management. Clinics were unable to monitor their CAPD patients, and some patients were unable to access PD, due to concerns over their ability to manage treatment safely at home.

In February 2024, we introduced the MyPD app, which enables all PD patients to access the benefits of remote patient management. MyPD allows patients to capture key information about their PD therapy in the app. This information is uploaded to Sharesource, enabling clinics to monitor and respond to CAPD patient needs.

Our innovation commitment

We are proud that the impact of MyPD has been acknowledged, reflecting the positive impact it has on patients and on the health system.

We also acknowledge the need for ongoing innovation in the digital health space, and will be proud to share ongoing enhancements to MyPD and the total Vantive digital health portfolio. As previously shared, we have committed to a US $1 billion investment to support the development of new technologies and services designed to improve therapy access, care experience and outcomes for patients.

Our Tech4Health Award is a great public recognition of our commitment to providing patients and clinics with innovation, and we look forward to hearing your feedback on the innovation we will share in the coming months and years.
